A Thousand Kisses Deep
A Thousand Kisses is a perfume for a woman who has lived, she’s a thousand kisses and more into her life. Her experience is worth everything to her. She isn’t obsessed about her appearance. In her life, conversation, music or literature are more important.
She’s a little world-weary at times but that’s only because she’s seen and done so much. She has a great love of life and will always be in demand, both professionally and personally. She’s a woman of influence.
Her conversation draws on her breadth of knowledge and she needs to find a match for it amongst her own friends. Like her, they are well travelled and well read. She’s not interested in the superficial. Her knowledge is, perhaps, acquired through her senses rather than through abstract reasoning.
Her fragrance needs to be as knowing as she is. Thousand Kisses is an intelligent perfume. The music: Leonard Cohen. She played his music when she was a student at Cambridge. The memories she has might shock those who didn’t know her at the time.
If this perfume has a colour it’s ultramarine, that dark green-blue shade which you see in the ocean, where waters are deep.
Myrrh resinoid, first used as an ingredient in Greek and Roman times, pays tribute to her knowledge of history and classics. Labdanum, does too. Obtained from a small shrub that grows in the Middle East and Mediterranean, Labdanum was recorded by Herodotus in the 5th century. Widely used in perfumes, it was one of the principle aromatics brought from Arabia.
These mysterious notes are combined with osmanthus, a flamboyant floral absolute a little like jasmine but with a fruitier smell. Lemon oil and orange mandarin add sparkle to the dense layers of this scent, so redolent of knowledge and experience.
