Love

“She was a wispy imp, pretty and perilous as a firework. Compounded equally of curiosity and cheek, a spark and tinder for the boys her quick dark body seemed writ with warnings that her admirers did well to observe. ‘Not to be held in the hand’ it said. ‘Light the touch paper , but retire immediately.’ She was an active forager who lived on thrills, provoked adventure and brought home gossip.” From Cider With Rosie by Laurie Lee

Love is a paean to young love and all its highs and lows, the intensity and the problems. And, the incessant moving on. Love is inspired by the type of girl who boys find very attractive but she’s not good for their welfare. She’s a tease. While she’s around, she’s such good fun. She’s bright and cheerful with a personality that dazzles. She’s slightly brash and is usually the centre of attention: it seems that everyone is after her. Boys want her. And girls who are her friends find themselves in a group that’s always in demand. Later they find, to their annoyance, that girlfriends are easily sidelined.

Love is an olfactive daydream of the book “Cider with Rosie.” The ghost of young love, a roll in the hay. In Love’s head she wants to be perfect but with her zest for life she moves from one relationship to the next without intended malice. She is oblivious to the hurt because she doesn’t understand it. This is a fragrant tale about a girl who moves seamlessly from this boy to his best friend.
Her fragrant snapshot starts in a burst of lemon oil, lots of lemongrass, and orange blossom. These fresh notes capture her youth and vitality. Floral absolutes, her feminine charm.
Coumerin gives her a roll in the hay, a nod to the “Cider with Rosie” inspiration of freshly mown grass. If she’s as tempting as apple pie, sniff a little longer and you’ll pick up the unmistakable smell of that too. Cider-with-Rosie notes are accompanied by a whiff of baking. Ripe apples and cassia, with its distinctive smell of clove, combine with cinnamon to reveal the alluring scent of just-baked apple pie. She’ll wear this to get her man, and do whatever she likes with him.
