Customer Review:
I LOVE this product, it really is a hardcore scrub, excellent for feet, elbows, knees, problem dry skin and my boyfriend\'s spotty back. Instead of dunking the bar in the water, I stood under the water for a minute then rubbed the dry bar over my wet skin and have had brilliant results. I love the smell but it is very strong so if you don\'t like it you can\'t escape it. Pleae keep this one Lush, it might be my favourite so far.

Did I get a really bad one? I used it dry on my wet skin as I usually do with the other scrubs, but this just turned into a wet sloppy mess! It did not exfoliate at all, and just left lumps everywhere. Hated the smell and mess, and left a oil on my body. Argh. First Lush product I hate, sorry lush. I still love you.
A really quite amazing product lush! It works really well, leaving my skin really smooth but it really does smell strongly of sulphur! still nice though! :)
I like this product. Really cleans the skin without any unpleasant feelings on skin. no red spots after using.
Doesnt smell like any thing!rnVery good exfoliater and makes skin so soft you get about 2 uses out of this one!
Why is everyone complaining so much about the smell? Big deal if it doesn't smell too good, add some essential oils if it's that bad! Seems like a poor reason to give up on something so good! It really works, I know from previous sulphur soaps how well it works on the skin. Certainly worth perservering with. If it's too scratchy just gently massage it around rather than scrubbing at it like you would with milder scrubs!rnPlease lush don't discontinue it, all it needs is a little understanding =)
This item is not for the faint of heart or irritable of skin! If you are strong in spirit, smell and skin it is amazing. I like it better than any other scrub we have, it's the only thing that works for my red elbows and knees, but I would not use it daily, more like three times a week. If you're not into the smell use it before a shower gel or softish soap.
I should sing the praises of the other items I love but they seem to have their fair share of fans. Brimstone's reviews give it a pretty low average rating but I think this stuff is fantastic. I would really recommend it if you have keratosis pilaris. My arms feel so smooth after using it. Wet your skin but then dry your hands before picking up the bar and it lasts longer. It may not be the best smelling Lush product but I'm willing to forgive a little whiffyness when the results are this good,
Thinking about this, I was concerned - I don't really want sulphuric acid on my skin, and won't I smell like dope?! Curiosity got the better of me though and I do really like it! The smell isn't bad (I'd choose this a million times over Aqua M) and you really get the sense that it's working, as it warms your skin. It feels acidic, and my skin is flaking in places, so if you don't like strong action, keep away from this one. I do feel very soft and clean!
This is quite a scrubby bar so use with care. It does fizz when you wet it so scoop off the fizz for a gentler scrub. I didn't mind the smell initially, but the sulphur smell definitely got stronger the more I used. Having read other reviews I decided to use Brimstone first & wash away the smell with shower gel afterwards, et voila: no smell =] Only gave 3 stars because I didn't like this one as much as I like Buffy. I have Glorious Mud to try next =] Love Lush. Keep up the good work.
I got this product free in a goody bag. To use i mixed it up with some water into a paste and then rubbed it onto my wet skin. Straight away i noticed the slight stinging sensation and the powerful smell however i felt that neither were that bad and after a few uses i now love the smell. It has done wonders for my skin and leaves it lovely soft and smooth after use. I have sensitive skin and have had no problems with the scrub irritating it and in fact my skin seems a lot calmer now.
smells hideous when wet, feels weirdly hot on your skin, scratches it very easily. makes your skin feel awful when its dry and you cant get rid of the scent. i had to have another shower straight afterwards and use my boyfriends boy smelling shower gel. i threw it away after the first time i tried to use it. bleugh.
Smells nice when dry. But, uh-oh...when it's wet it's really odd. A bit like those lotions for getting rid of hair. Plus, it made my skin feel very hot. Sorry, Lush. I will use it up but it's not a Buy-Again for me.
Brought my skin out red and angry :( it felt very hot on my skin too, sorry Lush
Well named as a bit evil and not in a good way. Not sure if this should have made it past development stage as smell is a bit peculiar and left me with red blotchy arms, never had that with any of the other scrubs. Not likely to get again sorry!
If you want a softer alternative try glorious mud but if you want to take a chance you might just find that this is one of the best exfoliaters for your skin. It isn't gentle but it does a great job because of it and it leaves you feeling soft and smelling lovely (the scent lasts too). I made the mistake of using it after shaving my legs - doh - but it made my legs feel really smooth. rnrn
This just remind me of an old Laurie Anderson song that said: "paradise is exactly where you are right now, only much better". After Brimstone, it is much much better!!!! Thanks Lush for such a powerful scrub!
Oh Lush, what a disappointment! I thought that this might be an awesome product to try out. While I thought it smelled lovely, I couldn't have been more wrong. It was way too harsh on my skin and it left big red scratch marks all over me. I so wanted to like this when I tried it, really I did. The only thing that did work for me was the scent.
I love and hate this product. It's not great for sensitive skin, after you have just shaved or if you have any cuts. But if you have normal skin that's unscathed then this is great for making your skin feel nice and smooth. Plus I found my Brimstone lasted longer than expected. I found it is a bit too rough for my skin on the whole though, it's probably a product best used now and again because of it's abrasiveness. Also I am not that keen on the eggy, strong smell.
I really really liked this, until I used it on my legs that had just been shaved and it was AGONY! It really really stung! I'm not sure if it was my sensitive skin or what, but I won't be doing that again in a hurry! Although I really liked the smell and feel of it on my skin, so I will be using it again... Just before I shave next time! :)

i know alot of people don't like the smell but it doesn't bother me and it's the type of product i'd use a moisture after anyway. i like this product and think it is very effective. i estimate i'll get around 3 uses out of it too so that's good. wouldn't recommend for sensitive skin though
I am really sorry Lush, but this is just awful. It has a really sickening smell. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets discontinued
This product is pretty good, persuaded my boyfriend to try it as he has hard hands from doing manual labour and it has softened his hands considerably. the smell isnt as bad as most reviews are making out either :) the only thing i'd say is to break it up into pieces as it dissolves very quickly when it gets any water on it
I'm surprised Brimstone is getting such bad reviews! I haven't bought it yet, though while I was at Lush today an associate demonstrated it for me. It made my hand feel really smooth and was a great massage, not harsh at all. I also didn't think the smell was that bad. The sulphur smell wasn't THAT strong and I could definitely pick out the sweet jasmine smell. Overall, if I need exfoliation, I would consider buying this product.
Sorry Lush, I really didn't like this product at all. It stank, and left my skin scratched it was so exfoliating...even the sugar scrubs don't do that to me! Anyway, I won't be buying this product again. On the plus side, it is quite cheap. Don't worry Lush, I still love you ♥, just not this scrub!!
Eeks, this smells like wet sheeps! It vanishes as soon as you make it wet, it just melts while you hold in. The smell lasts forever which is normally a good thing, but not for this. I threw it in the bin, never again.
I am a HUGE LUSH fan but I did not like this product, I normally like a good hard scrub but this was far too harsh. It scratched whilst scrubbing then when I rinsed my skin it burnt. It was sold in the shop as being fab but it was far from it. I will use it now on my heels!
This is a one time use product! As soon as it touches water it starts fizzing like a ballistic and disintegrates VERY quickly. It smells horrid and the scrubbing action is way too harsh. It left a huge scratch on my leg! I will be sticking with the body butters instead.
Sorry Lush, but this still smells disgusting (and so did my skin for a bit)! Hence why I have only given it 4 stars. rnrn If you can look past that, this is one of the best scrubs I have ever used. Break off a bit, let it fizz up with some water and then scrub it all over your dry bits, then shower off. I didn't even need moisturizer afterward (I have really dry, problem skin) and it still feels soft and smooth the next day!!
i heard really good things about this product from my local lush store, however i have quite sensitive skin and while using this in the shower it was extremely harsh and left my skin quite sore! probably good for use for an extreme exfoliation but probably best to stick with something like buffy if your skin is quite sensitive!
