Customer Review:
If you like the fragrance of patchouli oil you will love this. The perfume is strong but not over-bearing and it does last all day.The barglides over the skin and quickly penetrates and does the job itis meant to do. I have not used any other anti-perspirant or deodrantsince I discovered Aromaco about 3 years ago. Please try this product, and please Lush, keep on making it.

This is the best deodorant I have ever used. It has a strong smell, but not in a tipical deodorant way (luckily). It keeps me fresh all day long and I therefor only have to apply it once a day. Normally I tend to have a bad smell after I've worked all day long or when I've been cycling very fast. With Aromaco that smell is history!!! Also it lasts ages (when used once a day you will be able to use it like 4 months minimum)!!!
Aromaco is the most effective deodorant ever (seriously, much more than commercial formulas full of aluminuim). Don't let the patchouli description put you off.... it is subtle enough to be used by people who don't like patchouli and keep your armpits smell free and the skin healthy!
This is the best deoderant I've ever used. I always found with antiperspirants that after a while there would be an underlying whiff and they didn't always keep me dry. I've been using this for 2 weeks and I'm as fresh in the evening as I am in the morning even if I get sweaty during the day there's no whiffyness AND my tshirts aren't going to be damaged with powder residue. One edge was rough but using the sides that the LUSH rep had chopped with the knife proved to be smoother. BRILLIANT!!!
When you buy this you have to take off the top layer (thanks for the veg peeler tip) otherwise it doesn't apply well. Once I'd worked this out, this stuff is great. It makes me feel fresh and really works. I even seem to sweat less wearing it. My armpits are in better shape (i used to have bumps and sore bits). Only frustration is how it takes some work to get it right to apply
Do not use if you have sensitive skin!! It kept me really dry, but after a few days of using it my skin came up in painful red bumps, I even had to go to the doctors about it!
I tried to put this on dry and the grainy bits really hurt my skin! However this issue is solved by a simple rinse under the tap. It then goes on really well and sticks around all day - actually the best deoderant I've ever used, and the other day as I walked into the office my boss went 'ooh, what a lovely waft of patchoulli!'. So there.
i had this with the cyclist repair kit a few weeks ago and I love it! i work in a shop and the air con is broken at the moment, so it's like the tropics! but this deo has had no trouble tackling my sweaty pits. i still smell as fresh when i've finished work as when i put it on. it seems to depend on my body temperature as to how easy it is to put on, but that wont stop me buying it again. i also had no rash after shaving, which was what stopped me from trying it before.
Wow this prduct is amazing i brought this product last week. I put it straight to the test i used this at 6 am before i went to work (although i did take some deodorant in case it dint work) i smelt nice all day and i do sweat alot i then went kickboxing for an hour and it worked a dream it seems the harder you work the harder it works 5 stars.
Aromaco is brill! I must've not been using it properly when I first bought it because it didn't seem very effective but then i tried it again recently and it's fab! It stops the smell of sweat from coming anywhere near me and my pits, and it keeps me dry which is what I've been looking for for ages now! Perfect product, can be a bit iffy applying though! Worth it :)
I was a little apprehensive about trying a Lush deoderant but I needn't have been! Aromaco has kept me sweet-smelling, I've barely sweat and the skin on my underarms is better than ever. I'm hooked!!
Love this, keeps me dry and pong-free. Need to rinse it under the tap if skin not damp though as not easy to apply dry. Am hooked :-) Aromarant also good but this smells sweeter.
A lovely soft deodorant (more so than Aromarant) and very easy to use. It's just like a regular stick deodorant but minus the packaging! It smells very mossy with lots of patchouli and is effective in controlling BO. The only downside is that after cutting my chunk into smaller pieces, some bits developed an "off" smell and consistency, and had to be thrown away.
As a nurse on a very busy, overheated ward, Ive always relied on the usual antiperspirants but recently decided to give this a whirl. So glad I did! OK, so it doesnt stop you sweating but, whereas with conventional deodorants/antiperspirants Id be a proper'sweaty betty' halfway thru the day, with this I still smell great. A colleague asked me what my perfume was. I said 'no perfume - just deodorant'....the upshot of this convo means Ive just put in an order for one for her too!!
Made me smell like such a hippie - love the smell of Karma etc but this was too overpowering. However my husband has pinched it and he loves it. It smells much subtler on him too. Very effective deo.
This product is great i was given a sample it lasts all day and feels very soothing the only problem is i really dislike the smell however i put up with it because it works so well :)
not a big fan on blocls of deodarant, i rather have a roll on but the smell is lemony and it actually works prety well, made my armpits a little softer,i just cant make up my mind and say that i like it but i dont hate it
I'm disappointed with this. I find it hard to apply properly - I have to rub it so hard against my skin, the friction causes soreness & itching all day. Yet the room is warm enough that the bar is reasonably sticky & thus hard to store without a tin. It also doesn't take long until all I can smell is my armpits! Unless I could wash and reapply every hour or so throughout the day, this is not fit for purpose in my case. I have never had this problem with a deoderant before & won't buy again.
Will be heading STRAIGHT down to the nearest Lush shop to a buy a bigger piece! I've just finished my tester, and well be buying a new one ;)
Not first to say not having had sensitive skin before, after few applications my armpits got so tender and bumpy. I don't think it's the ingredients, I think it's the application. It comes in a block that you rub on. I tried cutting off the top layer but ultimately the product is hard enough (would compare the constinency to a wax candle), that essentially on application it creates friction and with continuous friction, the skin started to get friction burn. Exceptation not the norm for Lush!
I THOUGHT i'd had a sample of Aromaco, but it was Aromarant labelled wrongly (I know, the colour didn't register!) I went out and bought the full size of Aromaco, and whereas my little Aromarant was perfect and didn't ever dry out, Aromaco is all crumbly and makes my underarms dry :( I will persevere, as Aromaco smells so lovely, and I have a feeling that the closer I get to the middle of the bar, the more 'together' it will become.
Great value for a perfect product. It works wonderfully and last all day long. LUSH did it once more. It is fantastic also because of its simplicity. A truly masterpiece. I can only recommend it!
Love the scent, hate the occasional grit (thanks for the veg peeler tip!). Does a fantastic job initially and is my favourite of all the natural deo's out there - however, like most natural deodorants, I have to rotate it with others as it begins to lose its effectivenes after only a short while. Although I'm not sure if this is a statement about the deodorants or my armpits!
I bought this product about two weeks ago and was very dubious if it would work. low and behold I love it and will not stop using it. I get quite sweaty and am use to using anti-perspirants, but when I put this on I felt dry and smelt really fresh. I love the smell and will carry on buying it. I even got my mum to try some and now she is using it. The best thing is that this product like all lush products are natural as possible and they smell gorgeous. I thing its worth the price.
This works great and is gentle on my sensitive skin. It's best applied after the shower when your skin is still moist. It lasts for about 10 hours. I'm glad to have a natural deodorant alternative.
On first use it seemed too dry and I was glad that it didn't irritate my skin but all it needs is to be used when the skin is damp and then it glides on. The smell is ok and I'm glad it's not strong enough to notice once applied I only wish they could put this in stick form for easier application. Works really well though and is much stronger than other brands
Only rated this as a 3 star, because it scrapes my underarms when using it and not great after you've just shaved! However, love the smell, and definately keep me fresh all day long, it's so much better than the normal deodarants in stores.
Gorgeous smell and keeps me dry all day but it's pretty hard to rub on.You have to use a veg peeler or something to take off a layer so you can use it because it tends to harden over time.
I do not generally wear perfume but get lots of compliments about how nice I smell & this is the cause! Patchouli is a love it or hate it smell though...rnrnI would have loved to give it 5* BUT after buying it for years the quality is seriously variable. I think it's slices near the edge which seem to be especially gritty & you really need to scrape those layers away or you grate your armpit but it works & I love the smell so much that I'm happy to tamper with it a bit.
Having tried a solid, powdery deodorant from Lush a few years ago [which now appears to be discontinued] without much success, I was hesitant about this one. No need to be! Aromaco is brilliant, it feels great on the skin and smells lovely ALL DAY, even survived running around after my 3 kids and my kung fu class. The four stars instead of five is because it *is* a bit cumbersome to use and store. Otherwise perfect!
This did make my underarms a little itchy and sore at first, though I do have sensitive skin. But after a couple days that completely went away, I'm not keen on the smell though, this is the best deodrant I have ever used and I will never use another deodrant again. Keeps you fresh and dry all day long. 5 Stars. Thanks Lush :D
Fantastic. It works better than any deodorant or antiperspirant I've ever tried and there's no waste, and the smell is lovely and fresh and cooling. Other deodorants tend to smell a bit stale after a few hours, this never does and I have a pretty strenuous job! It seems expensive but one block goes such a long way.
After reading the reviews I have to say that I was slightly dubious about this deodorant, however after buying it yesterday I thought I would give it the ultimate test drive - a 2 hour gym session! It passed with flying colours and would highly recommend!
Although this product smells fantastic.. that's where the positives end. After only using Aromaco a handful of times it's made my underarms dry, bright red, itchy, sore, hot to the touch and has made the skin crack! I have never experienced this with ANY product before, never mind Lush. I don't even have sensitive skin. This product has ruined my underarms and I have to wear something that covers them up over the party season. NOT HAPPY Lush!
it smells very strongly of patchouli and although i don't notice the scent after applying it, my mum said i stink of it, haha. she said i smell like a biker.. apparently 'bikers' used to wear patchouli also.rnrni really like it, although at first it was quite scritchy scratchy on my armpits, i removed the top layer which was a little hard and then it was fine :) you may need to reapply but paired with the greeench it's usually fine.rn
I advise asking for a sample before buying, I did this and unfortunatly won't be buying it. I really wanted to like it and perservered for a week but it just didn't work for me and I'm not a particularly sweaty person! It does smell nice though
SMELLS PRETTY GOOD, ALTHOUGH SOME REVIEWS SAY THE SMELL DOESN'T LAST, I DISAGREE. WHEN SOMETHING SMELLS GOOD, YOU QUICKLY ACCLIMATISE TO IT AND DON'T SMELL IT ANYMORE. I OFTEN THINK THAT IT HAS WORN OFF UNTIL PEOPLE AROUND ME COMPLIMENT ME ON THE SMELL AND ASK WHAT I'M USING. ONLY 4 STARS BECAUSE IT LEAVES ABIT OF A VISIBLE RESIDUE AND BECOMES ABIT AWKWARD TO HANDLE AS YOU GET TO THE END OF THE BAR. WORKS VERY WELL INDEED WITH A CRYSTAL ROCK TYPE DEODORANT (THAT STOPS BACTERIAL GROWTH).
I don't understand why people are getting brown underarms, i've been using this for years and so has my boyfriend, we both love it! anything else burns my sensitive underarms, it keeps pongs at bay, even when I have serious workout on the dancefloor! and the patchouli scent mmmmmmmmmm..... sexy! :)
I am giving this a one star as it does leave brown stains underarm as others has stated. Also at first the smell is lovely but the smell soon wears off over time. Not impressed & wouldn't buy again, Will stick to Forever Living deo.
This has got to be the best deodorant i have ever used. I was a bit dubious to start with but for me it it does exactly what it says on the tin. I can get quite sweaty and this seems to have calmed my sweating down and there are no nasty sweaty smells whatsoever!!i shall never return to any other brand of deodorant. love it love it love it xxxx thanks Lush
I successfully used this for a year after being allergic to my other deodorants. I didn't find a problem with it hiding odours, except during very hot days and I loved the patchouli scent. Unfortunately, in the last few weeks it brought me out in a rash in one armpit it was all raised and red and felt burnt. I was told this is the best for sensitive skin so now I'm disappointed to have to go back to a commercially branded aluminium free roll on. I liked my aromaco!
The most amazing thing about this deo is that it WORKS!!! It is TRULY amazing - as attested to by many a previously Sweaty Betty, who now, thanks to Aromaco, ain't that sweaty at all. Aromaco is INCREDIBLE. It makes me sweat less, I never smell bad now I use it - even if I forget to apply it for a day, and on top of all that, it smells gorgeous. Also gentle on my sensitive skin. Wish I'd had this product as a teenager! It is fab.
This is the best deodorant in the world - fact! It works better than any chemical packed deodorant and even better than the ones which claim to last 48hrs. After your skin gets used to it, you sweat less. You feel comfortable in the knowledge that this baby won't let you down come high humidity or heavy gym workouts. It also lasts for ages too. I only have to buy 1 block A YEAR yet I have to buy my hubby one spray can A MONTH!
This is an excellent deodorant! It smells so fresh and nice - the smell is like nothing I've smelt before. :) It is strong but not overpowering. My friend bought it for me and for a lush metal case to put it in as well. I would really recommend the case to protect the deodorant. Works well to wick sweating - fantastic! Highly recommended.
I love the smell of this deodorant, it kind of reminds me of insence sticks. It is much easier to apply than the other drier lush deodarants. In addition it works very well.
this deoderant had the most disgusting smell i have ever smelt before. however i have eventually got used to it and it is wonderful at covering up the smell of sweat and is so easy to use. plus it lasts all day. i dont know how i ever lived without it!
This is the first time I've tried this, and I do love it. You get lovely wafts of Patchouli all day, and I found it really easy to smooth on, although that may change in the winter when the house is like an icebox! Will def buy again.
I love the unique patchouli scent which I'm addicted to. I had been using for a while when the other day I used my other synthetic, alcohol free, deodrant instead because of a long sweaty day ahead. I realised it way outperformed the average roll on which didn't last a car journey on a hot day, whereas with aromaco I can still smell the patchouli and not my sweat after going in the sea. To make it creamy for application I scrape it with a knife or just rub it on my leg to warm and smooth it up.
OK-it actually works!I usually use the"prescription strength" Secret & I still sweat&stink thru it. I've tried natural deodorants before,& they haven't worked for me, but this one does. The little cake can be a bit rough on your skin when u try to rub it on.Put it under ur armpits to warm while brushing teeth, etc. Rub the edge until it is a bit soft and as u use it, and it becomes deodorant shaped and is much easier to use.I highly recommend & the weird bar-of-soap-like-shape is worth it!
This is by far the BEST natural deodorant I've ever tried using. Pretty much all the others I've tried (i.e. those crystal salts ones) don't do anything at all to reduce body odor but this really works and it smells lovely and I'm never going back to using anything else again!! It's really soft on the skin too and thus doesn't irritate, and you don't have to rub too hard (I found this with another Lush deodorant). It leaves no stains on clothing either. Very highly recommended!
Never again will I use a deodorant from a tin. This keeps me cool, dry and smelling sweet all day. I was persuaded to try this and really didn't think it would work but I am now converted ........ and so is my 71 year old Mum!
Aromaco is one of the 4 (Aromacreme, Aromaco, Aromarant & T`eo) LUSH deodorants that I use. I love all 4 for different reasons. Aromaco is the patchouli scent with a touch of floral. The smell is actually calming and relaxing. Take this with you in a Body Butter Tin and put in your purse.
I got a sample of this patchouli-scented deodorant and it’s very creamy and glides on nicely. Sniffing the bar, it’s an extremely potent scent and although I love patchouli, it seemed almost too strong. However, it was toned down once on my skin and I love it! I keep sniffing my pits. This is something I will definitely have to buy!
The product that converted me to lush. I wanted a decent deodorant without all the nasties and one that worked as the 24hr ones failed to work - in the sweating and smelling stakes. This solved that instantly and I was amazed at how well it works. Whilst the smell of patchouli may not be everyones liking, I absolutely love it and love this product.
I love this product. It smells fab and keeps body odours at bay all day. 10/10
Keep it in an old Dream Cream tub and it will stay moist and not scratch your armpits
I actually like this very much because it really keeps my armpits dry and not smelly all day. I don't really like the smell very much but it fades very quick as soon as I have it on my skin so this is no problem. Unfortunately my armpits start to get a bit brown and sometimes scratchy using it for a few weeks now. Hope that will stop again as I'd really like to keep using it.
No to this one, definitely! Like several others it made my arm pits itchy and sore. I don't know whether this was due to a particular ingredient, or due to the number of times I had to apply it during the day to stop myself getting smelly (about 4). I think the time has come for Lush to offer refunds on deodorants. I love everything else I've tried. It's disappointing.
If you love patchouli, this is a fantastic deodorant- lasts ages, cheap, natural, & most importantly, keeps you smelling great even on hot summer days (I've tested it). However, after a few weeks of use it made my armpits go very brown, & eventually red & very sore. I was so disappointed. I've had the same issue with Aromacreme &(to a lesser extent) Oxeo Cube. Please, Lush, try & reformulate these otherwise fab products. From reviews I've read I'm by no means the only one with this problem.
Smells a bit like my grannie's closet but works very well! It also doesn't clash with my perfume since the patchouli scent fades after a while of wearing it. Thanks Lush!
I love this deo, it's really easy and simple to use. I can't say that I liked the smell when I first used it, but I can live with it now. It works really well.
I'm not to keen on the smell but it works well no body odour and no sweaty armpits and more natural than other deos
I've been using this deodrant for a few months now and I wouldn't be without it. I love the smell and my armpits are smooth and soft. It did dry my skin out initially but after a week or so of sticking with it I've never looked back. Fab product, highly recommend!
I bought a bar of this today and had to try it out as soon as I got home. Well it smells rather strong but not unpleasant (agree that it does smell a little like sawdust, but surprisingly not in a bad way). I have been told to expect to sweat more in the first week of using this but this will return to a normal rate. It was easy to apply but not sure how many strokes to use. Hopefully it will be a good choice!
Please write a review rnHave tried most of lush's deodorants and in my opinion this is the most gentle one, great after shaving or if you sensitive pits like me. I usually react to all deodorants after a while but not this one so far. it is also very effective and lasts absolutely ages. I was a bit dubious about the patchouli fragrance as my bf has a hippy phobia but he hasn't complained about this one yet!
For the short while I used this I found it great. Long lasting all day fragrance that masked the BO unlike my stick and roll on deodorants of old which would fail half way through the day.rnrnThe downside, The essential oils were too harsh for my skin and I had to stop using this as I broke out in a rash.
Brilliant! No BO smell, plus one block lasts for absolutely ages, months and months. I got mine at the start of the summer and still have half of it left! Best used when you've just pat yourself down after getting out the bath/shower, when you're still slightly damp (but not wet or it'll fizz!). This natural deodorant works very well. Only problem is there's the odd scratchy bit in in, but you can easily scrape them off. Highly recommended!
I was very unsure about giving this ago. other normal deodorants were making my skin dry, so i was looking for an alternative. After loving all the other lush products and being converted to solid shampoo (also sceptical about at first) i gave it ago, its amazing i love it so much, the smell is gorgeous, and is lovely on my skin, and i find it so easy to apply. i use it like a roll on, there is no mess or hassle, once again i have been converted.
This is an excellent product. keeps you smelling fresh all day. As an athlete other chemical products just weren't working for me, I'm glad I'm using this now because it just does the trick!
I have used this for the past week now and even the morning after the night before I wake up smelling great. It is really good for keeping fresh and nice especially after a busy night at work or a night on the town.
This is the best deodrant I have ever used.I got a small free sample of this months ago and I'm still using the same piece everyday. Its just like a stick deodrant without the packaging. I just rub it on and smell fresh all day (even when I did the race for life).I recommend asking for samples when you are at the tills in the lush shops. They're normally happy to give you them especially when you're already spending your money.
Great idea, really want to like it - but the smell turns me off. It's not that I don't like it, but it's overpowering and gave me a headache. Such a shame!
I am trying to decide whether to use this. I currently use a stick deodorant that works brilliantly and smells great, and leaves zero marks, but want to switch to something a little more natural.Does this tick all the boxes?
This product is amazing. It smells absolutely gorgeous, it is strong, mind you, so if you wear a perfume I'd avoid this. It works all day and makes your skin soft and silky. Its not sticky and the only thing that comes off on your clothes is that lovely smell! I will buy this again and again, although, I may not have to as it lasts forever, too!
i can not stand the smell. i usally smell the products b4 i buy but i was in a rush. i have realised i cannot stand the smell of patchouli. but it does work in the way that it covers the smell of sweat and/or destroys the nasties that make you stink in the first place. but sometimes it gets so over powering that i just want to wash it off. i recommend to ask for a sample before making a desicion coz i now have a massive chunk of something i cannot stand.
i bought this a few weeks ago and on first impressions well it seemed a strange texture, which does make it hard to apply because its so soft. It does work keeps you fresh throughout the day, I thought it smelt abit herbally which i don't really like, i'm going to keep on using it until it's gone and then try teo. I'm converting myseld to all solid products, i keep mine in a body butter tin.
This does work, it's lovely and gentle, but am I the ONLY person who thinks it smells like sawdust? haha, I want to keep using it because everyone has wrote good reviews, but I don't know if I like this smell...
Works....although best not to use it if yourwearing sleevless tops....as it leaves a very sexy white smudge. Having said that it does work very well and smells great. Good one for blokes.
i was very very very sceptical about using this product at first but my goodness it works magic!!! honestly I couldn't believe how my opinion of this product changed just after one day. As an athlete I need a good deodorant and this truely does work. Im not the biggest fan ofpatchouli but I've been getting used to it but who cares really when it works really well. I'd never go back to store bought spray ons ever!!
For many years I've been using solid, not all natural deodorants. And even though they have antipersperant, I've always ended up sweating, usually a lot. I decided that I was sick of sweat stains and marks left on my clothes, so I tried Aromaco. Oddly enough, ever since I started using it, I've been sweating waaay less... Which is wonderful! Thank you so much Lush!
I use this deo bar when I'm working. Keeps me fresh all day! And I work in a job that can get very hot and sweat inducing. I'm not a massive fan of the smell of patchouli but despite this I will keep buying it as it works so well!
Iv been a Lush addict for years now but always stuck to my regular deodorant because im paranoid about wetness and smelliness andthis is whatworked perfectly for me....until recently, when my underarms suddenly became VERY sensitive to it!! After 2 weeksof someserious armpit recouperation with no deodorant (not a laughing matter for some1 as anal as me!! Lol!) and lots of savlon,i decided to give Aromaco a try. I love the smell but trying to use it was like trying to rub a candle under my arms! Very very hard and waxyin its texture and also quite soreto rub into normal(ish) armpits never mind sensitive ones! Can some1 please tell me if this is normally what Aromaco is like or has my local Lush just left it out on the shelf a bit too long?????
Tried and Tested...a day of relaxation, hard day's work doing Indian Head Massage and a rare hot English Summer's day. Kept me fresh and dry all day (although I did reapply when working and on the hot sticky day), no irritation, nice scent and no staining of clothes...happy bunny! Thanks Lush :o)
This is the best natural deodorant (well..it's got a bit of propylene glycol in) I have ever used. I will never look back, it has changed my life! I put it on once in the morning (making sure pits are dry!) and I never have to worry and can wear the same top again even! Which is unheard of with other natural deodorants I have tried. A total winner and no rash or irritation : )
This deodrant lasts for ages so is excellent value for money, smells lovely and works. The only downer is that in the area where I use it, Isometimes findred patches which must mean I have some sort of reaction to it. It doesn't hurt or anything, it just doesn't look the bestespecially in the summer! The red patches come and go so I try and forget about them. Personally, as everything else with this deodrant is right, I will be sticking with it. A vegan deodrant, with all natural ingrediants and not tested on animals, can't be bad. I keep mine wrapped in grease proof paper or tin foil and that stops it from drying out.
I got a small bar of this for free (not sure why... maybe the staff thought I smelled for some reason hehe) but I gave it a try. I will say that it DOES work! And very well indeed, but I can't stand patchouli! It's just not a smell I'm fond of!I will be trying the other brands though, so I can find one better suited for me!
This is the best deodorant I have used. It isn't sticky, hasn't got a horrible smell and even after a workout my armpits aren't sweaty!I am still on my first bar of this after a year (with everyday use) so for that long, the price is excellent!
This is the first Lush deodrant I've tried, and its fantastic. It keeps me dry and smelling lovely all day. Initially the smell seems quite strong, but once you've put it on, its very subtle. It can dry out my armpits, but as long as I make sure I wash it all off in the shower frequently, and moisturise every couple of days, no problem. I chopped my block in half and keep it in a lush body butter tin to keep it fresh. I can tell its going to last for ages.Overall, a great product, and makes being Vegan so much easier!
Love the smell of this - I'm a big patchouli fan. It does work for me, but I'm not very sweaty. Only drawback is, it tends to dry out the skin of my pits -flaky underarms aren't a good look!
I loved the idea, I loved the smell, but it just didn't work for me I'm afraid. Like the last reviewer I have to be selective about deodorants which is nigh impossible if you're concerned about animal cruelty. For this reason I so wanted this to work, but I'm afraid it didn't. When I could get any effect out of it (at the beginning) it was minimal, and now half of it has gone it's become hard and practically unusable despite being kept in a cool dry place. I may try the other Lush deos out of desperation for a cruelty free product, but this just didn't do it for me.
Up til now, I've only been able to use one brand of deodorant without irritation - but it's not from a company I really want to support. Other animal friendly stuff made my skin peel, and so far this hasn't happened with Aromaco, even though Boots have redesigned (i.e. ruined) their razors and my skin is pretty sore.Although I don't sweat much, I don't think I could actually go without deodorant, so I was worried if this would work or not. To put it into perspective, the first day I tried this it was quite warm, and I busked for three hours (which is actually quite physical) and then walked two miles. I didn't just not have BO, I smelt great and was almost totally dry. I also thought this was good value for money.
I cannot recommend this deodorant enough. I struggled through my formative years using horrid antiperspirants that contained neurotoxic aluminium salts and gave me awful BO, and slowly fossilised the underarms of all my clothes until they developed the consistency of rotting cardboard. I tried the Kryztal deodorants and did not get on with them very well, but this deodorant smells great (although perhaps not to everyones' taste), kills stink, reduces sweating, and can be applied like a roll-on. The only thing to remember is that you MUST keep it in a plastic bag to stop it from drying out, not in the papery thing the Lush staff wrap it in! And if Lush ever discontinue this I am going to boycott them and buy cosmetics that are tested on animals, 'cause this really is a product I can't live without.
Being an "Old hippy!" and trying to help the environment. I thought that Aromaco was a wonderful alternative to spray deodorant. Plus the smell of PatchouliIs perfect. I love the aroma, and it keeps me dry and subtly smelling of Patchouli. The down side is that after a while it starts to crumble and is difficult to apply. Can you give me any ideas how to provent this from happening.Thank you Wizzadora.
I was using this for a couple of weeks (see previous review) and thoguht it was really good, unfortunately with continued use it made my arm pits peels (not painfull, but worrying!). Unfortunately, this means that Lush deodrants aren't for me as this is the one for sensitive pits!!:-(
I really, really wanted this to work but unfortunately, like Aromacreme, it gave me a rash. I'm really disappointed as I loved the smell and it seemed to keep me smell free. I did find it a bit crumbly though and preferred the texture of Aromacreme.
This smells lovely and is easy to apply. I keep mine wrapped in greaseproof paper in a Lush tin to stop it drying out. Works well and removes any bad whiffs. I had a bad reaction to aromacreme but this is nice and gentle, lovely stuff!
I had a prob with sensitive armpit due to rubbish chemical rollons. My Fiance got me a tester of this from Lush it was recommended by a staff member for sensitive skins. I took my common sense into action just like when I used roll ons and I cleaned my pits with water on some tissue and then dried with another piece of tissue, due to hygiene reasons. I rub the bar into my clean palm to warm it up like a lady said before in a comment to soften the bar up if there are rough patches on it, common sense really. Afterwards I wash the bar a little under water to make sure there is no sweat on it from application and this keeps it fresh and I pop it in a little lush plastic bag without drying it so it doesn't dry out (When I get a big bar I'll cut off only what I need as this testers the right size anyway). I use to do this all the time with roll-ons so to me it isn't any issue it's just a 1 minute job even when I'm out and about I do it. If it's to look after your under arms and smell nice why not just use that 1 minute to make yourself fresh : ) And the smell of patchouli and chamomile is lovely I keep wanting to smellmy arms...when I'm alone that is ! HahahaI put it on morning, at say 6pm and at night just like any other deo. Sometimes you need to use it more in a day when you sweat alot from time to time but that's normal to reapply as the human body sweats in the day often. As the lady said before me this contains no chemicals for clogging pores as Lush is fully natural products.Give this a go it's a lovely bar and if you have patience for just one minute you'll smell nice and feel great knowing chemicals aren't damaging that delicate area under your arms.Thank you again Lush I was so nervous about trying this but it really works for me so I'll buy the bar when I run out of the tester in future!
I love this little chap:He is handy, portable, sweet smelling, keeps me safe from the evils of pongs, sensitiveand everlasting. What more can a girl ask for.One tip Iwould suggest is that you pick up one of Lush'splastic bags (near the bath bombs) and keep himin there once you have removed the paper wrapping. It keeps the bar, clean, moist and ready for action. Or, you could chop a chunk off and keep it in a shampoo tin, plus chopping a little off gives you a nice smooth edge for easier application. Remember deodorantsdon't stop you sweating - they stop you smelling. So don't get them mixed up with those horrid anti-perpirants that can cause cancer.
Hurray I finally seem to have found a product that doesn't irritate my underarms ( T'eo was a bit strong for my verysensitive underarms) and has no dodgy salts or chemicals and has a scent that suits me. Oh and it's a good deodorant too! It doesn't stop sweating but the witch hazel in it is an astringent and will naturally make skin pores smaller. Was a little bit hard and crumbly at first but i think the trick is to rub it on one end until it becomes warm and soft, and after a few uses you get a smooth even surface that's a bit easier to apply, itsmoothes onto armpits like a creamand is fine even after shaving. In fact it's better because pores are open then and i was concerned about these dodgy chemicals in sprays getting into the skin that way. I'm very happy with this so far after years of sprays that didn't work, didn't smell that nice and made my skin sore.I find keeping it wrapped up in its paper keeps it moist enough too.
Normal deodorants make my sensitive little pits very sore so decided to try Aromaco. I love the smell and catch wiffs of it throughout the day. My armpits don't get a rash anymore after shaving and although occasionally there is a bit of a damp feeling, theres never any bad smell, probably becauseI read somewhere this is a deodorant NOT anti-persperant, so it won't stop you sweating just make you smell good when you do :-)I definately give it the thumbs-up!
I've been using Aromaco on and off for a couple of years now. While it does appear to ward off the whiffsreasonably well, it doesn't keep me dry and my skin peels after a few days of continuous use.
Out of all the lush products I have tried, this one has been the worst! I used it a couple of times and thought 'Hey this is good'. It smelt okay and didn't give me sweat patches but after a while it just shrunk and became almost solid. I could not rub it on my pits at all. Little chunks just kept coming off. So, I came on this site and read some of the reviews on Aromaco and someone said you need to wrap it up to keep it moist and just use it a little at a time. I got another one, did what that person had recommended and it still shrunk and went as hard as rock! I guess maybe this product is not suited to me.
this is really good and smells great but when used during the day i had wet patches under my arms, i will use my t'eo during the day and this at night after a bath and am staying in!
My journey through lush deodorants started with Oxeo cube, then to aromoacreme and back to oxeo cube and now this.. I had a really bad reaction to aromacreme (pussing blisters and other delights) after about 3 weeks using it. I had used and liked oxeo cube and went back to it for a bit, but still found it a little scratchy on the pits, especially after shaving. This one was recommended to me by the people at Lush Buchannon St, Glasgow and I must say it really is top notch. It smells pleasant and keeps you nice and dry. I was a little nervous after my experience with aromocreme but it works really gently, even on freshly shaved skin, my pits have never looked better! It smooths on really easily like a regular stick deodorant and does not stain clothes or pits.
smells nice and fresh (quite a few people have said that i smell lovely since I started to use it) and it works, which is always a good thing! I would recommend keeping it in the lush paper and just removing the top bit of paper so you can use it as more of a roll on deodorant than having to mess around with pulling bits off and rubbing it into your arm pit.
This really does work to keep you dry and is easy to use, however the smell is not good, i thought nobody would be able to smell it on me so used it anyway, i was then pulled side in work and told that i stank of B O, oh my god i was mortified and pulled out my piece of aromaco for them all to smell, they all agreed that it smelt like B o. so it was the deodorant not me, it really does smell that bad. so for me im afraid this is a no no, yes you are dry but if its gonna make you stink whats the point!!!know weather it reacted with me or it smells like that on everyone, so if you plan on buying this ask for a sample first
this stuff is great, it lasts you ages & makes you smell sweet ascandy! because it's especially good for sensitive skin, it doesn't hurt if you use it after shaving (just make sure your pits are well dried though!). i thought it would be weird to use or a bit messy or dry, but it's just like using a regular deo-stick but without the extra plasticpackaging on it. result! would reccomend investing in a LUSH tin to keep it in, espeshif you plan on keeping it in the bathroom.
I love LUSH products for their lack of plastic packaging, their gorgeous smells & of course their effects - they do just what it says on the tin (which you can buy for shampoo bars)! My Aromaco deodorant is white (the web pic looks green/blue) & smells lovely. I was given great advice in the shop when I bought it, & it works well.I just want to tell the world to ditch all their plastic bottles & use these products - what a difference that would make! I feel nice wearing it.
I used this for the first time today. It felt a little odd not applying my deodorant from a can! I'm happy to say Aromaco is fab and smells lovely. Kept me dry and fresh all day. I've been coverted. Thanks Lush!
I thought I would try moving awy from aluminium anti-perspirants, and give a more natural deo a try. I chose this because it doesn't smell too strongly, and I have sensitive skin which this one is meant to be for.So far I am really pleased - the bar is slightly soft, and is easily rubbed into the underarms. I did try it after shaving once and it stung, but not too terribly, and it didn't cause a rash.I've just been clothes shopping, and even after all the hot changing room clothes-on-off-on-off goings on, I am definitely not smelly in the slightest! Well done Lush, I love it.
