Great cleanser! So perfect for my oily and young skin, so fresh smell, great scrub (I LOVE face scrubs!!!), and the oil is all gone after the wash and the skin is as soft as a baby butt, honestly, this is heaven. LOVE IT!

I love this cleanser. It's a great exfoliator, and gets rid of oil, but I don't find it too harsh on my skin. I use it every other day (I like to combine it with Herbalism) and my skin is normally pretty sensitive, so I am a huge fan! As some other reviewers have mentioned, use it in the shower - otherwise you will not love it as much, because of the black mess it left all over you and your bathroom. Also, always check for black residue in your nostrils, haha! Wonderful product - thanks, Lush!

This product is amazing!!!! I got a facial at my local spa. and the lady used this on me and I knew I had to buy it. So I did, and I've used it for about 2 weeks now. It made a huge difference to my acne and is great with Vanishing Cream and the moisturizer 'Gorgeous' was great in my facial as well! I am so glad I bought this!!!

Got this in a goodybag the other day and rushed home to try it! At first I was unsure because it does take a while to wash off properly (you need to put the effort in, otherwise you look dirtier than when you started!) I don't agree that it settles in pores, that sounds to me more like that person did not wash it off properly! Made my spots vanish lickety split, even one of those horrible under the skin red lumpy spots was gone the next day! Will definately buy some when my pot runs out!

Smells gorgeous, works a treat but top tip... USE IT IN THE SHOWER and try not to use your lovely white towels to dry your face with when you've realised you are washing your face in the basin but should have followed earlier advice and USED THE SHOWER! That said, it came out of my fluffy white towels a treat! Thanks Lush, another fab product!

i love this! it smells amazing and its the only thing ive found that keeps oil at bay- i have really oily skin(normally i can wipe it off by 10 am!) i use it once a day and it keeps my skin looking fresh and oil free all day

AHH I LOVE THIS!!! The best exfoliator around, small grains ensure that your skin is buffed not scraped which I find with Ocean Salt where the salt pieces are too big and feels like shades of glass on the skin. My skin is actually quite dry and often dull and this is perfect for a 3 times a week scrub, I use it on my Neutrogena wave and it is like having a micro dermabrasion. MUST TRY!

YUMMY! Smells lovely :)!! I think this is absolutely magic! It makes your face feel like you've had a face mask on for 15minutes but works in seconds. Slightly messy but works a treat and this pot will DEFINITELY last for AGES!

I love this intensive cleanser. I've been using it twice a week, and it's clearing up my redness and spots like magic. The smell reminds me of liquorice somewhat. Awesome! It leaves your face instantly soft, and for days after, my skin isn't very oily. I tried this yesterday, and I can't stop touching my face, it's so soft :D Definitely recommended, if you want a nice, soft face. But I wanna try Coal Face next, because this doesn't seem to do much at all for pimples/blackheads, so that loses a star.

Fabulous! Great for my oily face and black heads. It smells and feels wonderful. The first time I used it, the sight of my face made me laugh, I looked like a chimney sweep. I had Mary Poppins in my head! Chim mniney, chim chim cha roo....... rnrnI also scrub my boyfriend's back with this. It helps to clear the bumps and blackheads and left his skin so sweetly soft. This scrub is great for oily skin with dry, flaky patches. It's too harsh and drying to use as a daily cleanser, but I use it three times a week to give my skin a really good deep-down clean. It exfoliates and reduces excess oil, and by following it up with Tea Tree Water and Vanishing Cream I'm not left with dry skin at all. I would recommend it to anyone with oily, spot-prone skin, but it would be too harsh for those with dry or sensitive skin.

I love this product. It really cleanses the skin, and gives you a deep down clean feel. I used it two to three times a week, but think it might have been a little too much as it did dry my skin out a bit. I have normal skin with a bit of a dry patch on my forehead, but this works wonders on my skin as long as i moisturised afterwards.

Very messy but VERY good! I have the most awful combination skin and most scrubby cleansers just send it into a mess of oil and breakouts...this is wonderful though, perfect! rnrnNote: Do not rinse off with a white flannel!

Bought a pot recently, to alternate between this ask my mask of magnaminty and I must say that it is a pretty good cleanser! It seems to have the same effects as Coalface (which I use everyday in the shower to remove makeup) exept that it can only be used twice a week. I dont think I'll buy again, as I much prefer using my coalface daily, but I wouldn't say I'm dissapointed at the effects this cleanser is having on my skin!

Wow. I knew it's going to be black but I was still suprised to see how black it actually was on my face. :) It's really great, gives a great scrub, your skin will feel absolutely clean and refreshed after using it. And it does the job without drying out your skin. I love the smell too.

Totally agree with the reviewer who said that this product visibly settles in pores despite a thorough washing of; since this was my experience too! Won't be using this as a fascial cleanser again.

Dark Angels is absolutely amazing! I've had strange rash-type spots all over my face and neck for about a month now, and I'd tried all sorts of 'normal' cleansers with no improvement. Then I decided to try this fun-looking squidgy black stuff, and within a week my skin is almost perfectly clear. I have used it slightly more often than recommended, using it every other day rather than just twice a week. But it works! And smells gorgeous too =D Thank you Lush, for making my skin look nice again!

I Like the product a lot it is not harsh againist the skin but maybe a little too much if you have very senstive skin. It leaves my face nice and soft after use it can be a tad messy - but i can live with that !

I have been using this product for over and a year and the effects have been spectacular. Not only does 'Dark Angels' help combat spots and acne but it also helps to reduce the appearance of acne scarring. I would recommend that people use this cleanser every other day. I have found that if you use 'Dark Angels' along with 'Angels on Bare Skin' one day and then 'Angels on Bare Skin' the next by itself; the results are amazing.

This one is much more intense than coalface and it does really accomplishes what it promises. I just feel renewed, everytime I use these dark and beautiful angels.rnThanks LUSH!

This 'cleanser' is a misnomer; 'Hell's Angels' was its development name but 'Lucifer' would have been an even more apropiate title. Even when you think you've washed it away the charcoal is still buried deep within your pores making you resemble a coal miner who's almost breached the outer regions of hell. Whilst it does sucessfully exfoliate my skin, it is so harsh that it leaves my complexion oily and the residue causes breakouts. Stick to Coalface (its sinless relative).

A friend recommended this, so I got a sample and from the moment I washed it off I was hooked. I don't have particularly greasy skin and I've never bothered with a cleanser before but combined with the scrubby properties it's brilliant, leaves my skin super soft. Only 4 stars because it's so messy. It ruins face cloths, is hard to get off the skin and gets all over the sink too.

Scrubs up my skin like no other! Fantastic product for oily skin and fun to use! It really helps clear out blackheads and nasties and dry up oily patches - good primer for make up. I agree that considering it should only be used twice a week, the pot is rather large, although I do use it on my neck, chest and back which are also prone to spots so I've not had trouble using it up. Smaller pots would be a good idea though.

THE perfect partner for coalface! My partner uses this twice a week and it unblocks all his pores and leaves his beard very soft. Only problem is it's very messy so rinse off well!

this is great, add a bit of water to a small bit of it and smooth it over your face. Love the way it is black!! Cleanses face and removes dead skin and so on, great stuff! Great for oily skin.

Okay, so this one is just plain fun. I had to laugh when I crumbled up my first piece and thought about putting a black mush on my face...to clean it! It does a great job though, and it's a mild exfoliator too. My face felt soft and smooth after I used it. Don't forget to look in the mirror afterwards to make sure you've washed off all of the smudges, and you'll be good to go!

been using this for 3 weeks now and although my skin is better than it was before its still a work in progress. might try coal face next time see if that clears out my combination skin any better. worth a try though

Nice product, leaves my skin soft and clean.rnBut indeed, smaller quantities would be better, since the use by date comes a lot quicker than the bottom of the pot. (My current D.A. had to be used by january 28 2010 but I'm not half way through, using it twice a week). So I'll try coal face next time.

While travelling we happened upon a lush shop in the USA. i was looking for a cleanser as months of gunk had just made my skin look aweful.rnAfter using this product for a couple of weeks my skin looked fresher and healthier for my return to the uk so i give it a big thumbs up :)

My skin is oily and although i did try a different product before, i find this one better for me but I have two problems with it: one is that after i wash my face the black sticks to my face and is really hard to take it off, i have to use my face cleanser for it, and the second one I would really prefer it if it was sold in smaller pots as even tho I am using it every day i never got to the point to finish the product before the expiry date. SMALLER,CHEAPPER CONTAINERS WOULD BE BETTER FOR ALL.

I have been using 'Coalface' for a while now and as it has worked wonders on my skin and totally cleared it up , I craved a good scrub to make brighten my face and make it super soft. With 'Dark Angels' I get the benefits of 'Coalface' but the scrubby goodness of an exfoliator in 'Dark Angels'. Great! :)

I have quite oily skin, and I've spent years trying to find a product that doesn't either make it worse or dry it out. Dark angels is great, it makes my skin feel soft and has cleared up any blemishes. I also find the smell to be quite nice, which is an added bonus.

I love this product...I have combination skin, which is greasy but prone to drying out. I use this twice a week, and it softens my skin and reduces my blemishes. I had a sample previously, and had no problems with it, but when i bought a pot i found it difficult to remove. I can see from comments that others have found it hard to remove and stains their skin....I have the perfect solution....use fresh farmacy staraight after and it comes off so easily.

I have combination skin and this works just as well as any other cleanser. Its madly black on my face, hadnt realised just how dark it would be! It smells horrible- like licorice which doesnt float m boat, but the smells disappears soon anyway. I expect it would be good for very oily skin but it was average for me. Angels on bare skin is much better

This was recommended to me as an alternative to Coalface, and it has all the skin clearing properties with none of the drying side effects. It's the perfect cleanser for anyone with oily skin, really.

Why didnt someone hand me this in high school? It would have saved me so much grief! A miracle on my oily skin- until I found lush I didnt see how a product could be gentle but effective- this scrub manages both- its soothing & whacks spots right in the nutsack but it never dries out my skin or makes my face feel too sensitive like the chemical warfare I used to throw at it! Top tip-I leave this on for a few minutes before washing it off like a mini face mask and it seems to work wonders!

i have had such oiley acne prone skin for years now and tried every cleanser going. This is just the best one ever created! It does the job and keeps spots and unwanted oiley skin at bay! Would recommend to anyone and in fact my brother uses it too!

ive used this product once or twice and its great,it smells good and is fun to use but it is messy to clean up so iam going to use the advice from someone else who put a review up and use it in the shower it does get rid of the oily skin so its a 4 for me

I love Dark Angels,the only thing i would warn anyone about is the mess,so unless you use it in the shower be prepared to clean up a bit,it took a while to get used to because i kept finding bits i hadn't wiped off.It leaves my face lovely and smooth and i love the little bits of scrubby sugar,i use this 2-3 times a week as an exfoliant and cleanser.

This is a FANTASTIC cleanser BUT only if used in the shower! If you use it in your sink I guarantee you that you will have to clean up afterwards, Plus have quite a bit of dark black pits stubbornly sticking to your face! And if it gets under your nails!!!!! So like I said use it in the shower once or twice a week, and you wont look back! To me Angels on Bare skin is still the best thing out there, but this comes close - also this has a lightening effect!

I love this scrub! I was given a free sample, before this I was using a prescription scrub for resolved acne too scarred to switch back to anything less. Dark angles is the only scrub I have bought that comes close to what my doctor gives me. The reason I have not given it 5 stars is as after a week of using dark angels alone I started to get some very small white heads back but I now only use prescription stuff 3 times a week instead of 3 times a day! and Dark angles does not dry out my skin!

The first time I used it, I was amased by the results -- fresh, clean and glowing face!rnBut now my face seems to have adapted to it, it doesn't do anything to me anymore. Well it's still a good exfoliator tho... I suppose.

I don't have oily skin, it's more like combo but really really sensitive & easy to harm. This is the best exfoliator I ever had. I don't use this every day, I use this like peeling - one, two times a week. & I can tell U - works magic. I can even compare this to light microdermabrasion. I got sample in my last order & I'm sure I'm gonna buy full size in my next order.

With this one I've messed up. I bought it in Moscow before my trip to my amorous Tukey, and there I used it for 1-2 times a day. I don't know with what had I thinking, but than, returned to home I found stupendous skin irritation. It was awfull. I've set aside my Dark Angels, cured my skin and now use it only 1 time a week for scrubbing. It's cool, I can say now :) I'm really in love with it, no matter I harmed myself with it. *Stupid me* Isabel

i used to have oily, red, breakout skin. i have been using this for a few months now, and the results are amazing! i LOVE this! You can really feel it cleaning out your pores and it makes your skin feeling and looking so smooth after! and now i hardly have any redness on my face! and its good for getting rid of spots too! basically, its an amazing cleanser and i would recommend it to anyone!rn

This is such a lovely exfoliator! It's the first exfoliating scrub I've tried from lush, and it does what it says on the tin (well, tub...) basically - really makes my skin feel fresh and glowing.rnOnly catch is that after you've washed the scrub off, you do get a sort of greyish stain all your face. I've found that if I wash it off with a wet face towel, though, it ALL comes off and doesn't stain :) Hope that helps everyone!

I have dark olive-y Indian skin, oily and prone to spots. I found this cleanser/exfoliant is great, really combats spots nicely. Didn't do anything for black heads, but makes my skin look fresh. Never had any problems getting it off my skin or cleaning up after either! Perhaps paler skinned people should try something else, like Aqua Mirabilis.

its a pretty good scrub and I like the smell. But its a nightmare to get off. I ended up using about 5 pieces of cotton wool with tonner and had to really rub my face so it ended up bright red and irritated.

I do like this, it scrubs alot better than Angels on Bare skin. However, I can't use everyday. I have to use this every other day as it's stained my pale face! I look even dirtier than before I washed my face! I'll use it up though but not sure if I'll buy it next time I need a cleanser!

I've been looking for a good scrubby scrub and I have found it in Dirty Angels! It's really gritty and works in well, and I only had to use a little bit so I know this will last for ages! I'd been wanting to get this for a while an I was so excited to try it when I finally got it. Im sorry to say that I was really disappointed, my face felt dirty afterward and it actually stained my face. I guess this just wasn't the cleanser for me.

WOW!! Why i hesitated to get this product for so long i will never know, i think its the fact it states its for dark skin when i am very pale. However! dark angels works soooo well on my oily acne prone skin, it gives a truly deep cleansing experience and leaves my skin smooth and more evenly toned. They say you can use everyday if you have oily skin but i wouldnt as it is quite exfoliating so i think 3 times a week is adequate. love love LOVE it!!

Yay! I finally found the LUSH cleanser for me! It's true, there really is one for everybody you just have to keep at it and try them all until you find one to suit you. This is so scrubby and leaves my skin really clear and smooth. Right, now to get a huge tub of it....!

Have been using this product for 2 weeks now.i use this thrice a week along with using fresh farmacy everyday. i have mediumish acne on my chin cheeks and forehead due to stress and hormonal changes. this product is great. wheni used it for the first time i thought 'oh dear this won't work' but after a couple of uses the acne on my cheeks and fore head has almost gone. just some left on my chin lol. this great product recommend to anyone with acne.rn

So far so good, I also mix this product with the ocean salt to create a "dirty Ocean" works amazing

An absolute essential. Both my boyfriend and I use this once or twice a week with Coal Face soap and it balances our skin really well. Perfect, and great value too - lasts ages.

Herbalism just wasnt doing the job anymore but this, this is like liquid gold for me and just seems to last forever and ever... just make sure you've got it all off before you leave the house :)

I have a really oily skin, and i have tried many facial scrubs from time to time. This is one great product to use 2 times a week. Leaves the skin really fresh and clean. Only bad thing, i have to clean the black muddy mess i leave behind :)

I've never written a review for a Lush product before, but after using Dark Angels for the first time I felt I just had to!! This product is absolutely brilliant - it smells wonderful, looks exciting and does the job perfectly. My skin has never felt so smooth and soft after cleansing before. It must be all that gorgeous black sugar and charcoal! My only criticism is that the charcoal has a small tendency to collect in your pores if you scrub too hard... otherwise a flawless product.rn

I have typical teenage skin but I've recently started using this 2-3 times a week and use angels on bare skin as my everyday one these made my skin baby soft and almost spot free within a week !!!!!! GO LUSH : D

Ugly colour, bad smell, but it did wonders for my skin!

I bought this today and i used it as soon as i got home. I wasn't sure if it's good for spots (i should have asked lol) so i mixed it with herbalism. My face feels sooo good, and it feels so good to use (and smells good), so i used it alone again right after before slapping on cupcake!! my spots have reduced in redness a lot since :D!! can't wait to wash my face before bed

This face wash is amazing, the best I have ever used. It smoothed my skin in a matter of days, it felt like I had a new face! It does leave a black scum ring around the sink, but a quick squirt of Mr Muscle and a wipe round with a wet cloth soon sorts that out.

I absolutely love the fact that I get to make myself all dirty in order to make myself all clean!!! Much fun has been had by applying this in black "warrior" stripes over my cheeks/forehead before scrubbing all over! Makes a hell of a mess though, and don't use with white flannels!! Leaves skin glowing and healthy, will buy again.

The website had rave reviews about Dark Angels so I thought being young(27), dark & oily, I'd give it a go. I ignored the shop lady's recommendation and bought Dark Angels. I'm glad I ignored her because I haven't had a spot since, my skin is clear, even, fresher & younger looking. Result! It's just the right amount of scrubbiness. I use a tiny bit every 2-3 days, alternating with ordinary face wash. I love it and I hope Luch never stop making this because I'll have to wear a balaclava again.

Two months ago, in the Lush store on Coney Street in York, I found love - Dark Angels works MIRACLES !! It's kind of a cross between Ocean Salt and Herbalism, both of which I love, but this is sooooooo good !!!!! rnMy skin is usually really bad with acne, but Dark Angels has sorted me right out, my pores feel tighter and my skin really soft and smooth, minus the monster spots I usually get! I love the little scrubby bits in it and it smells lovely. rnLush does it again! Yay!

I don't think i would ever leave the house if I hadn't bought this. I love it, seriously. It really helped clear up the teenage skin problems and made me smell delicious :)

I use this product as a weekly face mask treat and it leaves my skin very soft and clear. As I am prone to acne, the scrubby bits could be a little too rough for daily use however you can get round this by not scrubbing at all - just use as a mask/scrub rather than a cleanser by applying then rinsing. It has the same desired effect but without stimulating a potentially reactive skin. Great with Fresh Farmacy, Grease Lightening and Vanishing Cream.

This product is fantastic. I have really oily skin, so I like to use this as a mask three times a week (along with coal face everyday). It is really messy, especially if you get the stuff in your hairline, and you will look like swamp thing if you use it as a mask, but it is really great at reducing oil. LOVE IT!!!

I LOVE this product, and since my first time using it, I can't imagine ever switching to another facial cleanser. The smell is unconventional but beautiful, and for the first time in my life, I actually look forward to washing my face because of how good it feels! i use this on a night(using lush's pharmaceutical soap in morning)and has really cleared up my adult acne,better than AOBS!

THIS IS INCREDIBLE! I use this cleanser every other day, in conjunction with babyface and ultrabland. I also use tea tree water for my toner. For my moisturizer, I use gorgeous (night) and paradise regained (day) Voila! My cranky, large-pored, middle aged skin no longer has spots OR wrinkles instead of having spots AND wrinkles! Magic! Thank you Lush! My skin has NEVER looked this good.

Over the past few years I've tried a lot of cleansers - ranging from cheap to crazily expensive. This fairly cheap cleanser is by far the best I've used so far. rnrnI have very oily skin, and this leaves my skin feeling super soft - like I've just worn a face mask - every time I use it. Despite the label saying use it once or twice a week, I've been using it as my morning cleanser, and this (along with Vanishing Cream) has left my skin feeling soft and looking matte all day!rnrnBravo!

Best Cleanser EVER!! I have really spotty and oily skin so im always on the lookout for good cleansers. Dark Angels is Amazing. After one wash my face felt so smoth and clean. The only downside it is very messy and you'll need to wash your skink afterwards. But it is definetly woth it!!

I just got this free today from the lovely lady in the newcastle store. The smell is completely different to what I expected, very sweet and not too overpowering. I usually have trouble with cleansers as they either leave my skin dry and tight, or too oily. This has left my skin feeling really soft, although it left my sink a mess!!! There's something strangely satisfying about rubbing squidgy black stuff all over your face lol. Definately worth a try, especially if it's free!!!

You can definately smell the rosewood in this, but its far too scrubby to use everyday or even every other day. To be honest this is no better than angels on bare skin - my skin was even more oily afterwards and seeing as it makes a terrible mess i won't be using it again.

the best cleanser ever - really easy to use to and helps to keep my skin under control - thanks lush :)

Who knew perfection could come in a little pot? This cleanser is amazing, I ususally use coalface but I like to try new things. A lovely lady who works in Brightons lush reccomended try this if i like coal face! And I dont think ill ever look back! The refined coal is amazing for gently exfoliating the face and leaving it super soft. It works wonders it really does!

Well thank-you lush is all I have to say!! Like all of lush's cleansers, a little tricky to put on if you've never used it before, but you soon get the hang of it. The smell is subtle, but pleasent all the same and it left my face feeling so soft that I kept touching it for the rest of the day - convinved I had to be imagining things! But no, lush have worked wonders again and created a miracle in a pot. Absolutely love it and will never stop buying. Ever. Thanks again lush!

Wow wee! This is just scrubby enough, better than Herbalism. I’m fair and was a bit worried at first as Dark Angels is black. My pore’s are instantly less visible and my whole face is soft. The smell is lovely, like lavender and liquorice. Mmm!

Really rate this. No getting away from the mess-factor, but there's something oddly satisfying/decadent about massaging a squidgy black paste into your face! Skin feeling greatly improved after only a couple of uses, and small pot belies how long it will last as you don't need much. Doesn't leave the same 'tight' sensation that FreshF does. Only downside is that it does ravage the skin on your hands. Actually considering going barefaced this summer xxx

A very messy cleanser - it will turn your face completely black but it is definately worth it. Its scrubby enough to use no more than twice and week and you'll amazed at how smooth and decongested your face will be.

Bought this today 16/07/09 and just used it for the first time - wow, it's brilliant! I really love Coalface so thought i'd try this and I'm really impressed! The tiny grains give a really good but gentle scrub and it hasn't dried my skin out at all.rnGreat value for money as you only need a small amount so much so that using it once or twice a week may mean I won't finish it before the use by date but I may try and use it on my back which is prone to spots. Very messy but very worth it!

What an incredible product! While recommended use is 1-2 times a week, I actually use it every day. It's really helped my exceptionally oily skin (especially in the summer) and gives a very deep clean, but doesn't break me out - my breakouts have actually completely ceased since using Dark Angels! This with Tea Tree Water toner and Vanishing Cream is simply perfection for my skin. Thanks Lush!

I don't know why I always like stuff that's black but I so. I liked Coalface but this is even better. I adore this, please keep making it!

This product is FANTASTIC!!! There aren't many products that work well on my skin, as i have combination skin. I'm asian, and thought id give this a go, and wow! i never bother writing reviews, but i have to tell lush that this is a keeper!

I love the smell....feels great....works amazing!!! a little messy.... but use in the shower if its a big deal to you.

I love this sooo much, i have extra oily skin, and this works wonders. My skin is actually glowing, not with oil, but like a healthy glow. you have to try this, dont be put off buy the description which says its for dark skin, yeh whatever

I am in love with Dark Angels! I have been on a search for a facial cleanser and now I've found one that works for me. I had tried everything: AOBS, Fresh Face Farmacy, Ultra Bland..you name it, i've tried it. Nothing has made my skin happier than this one! I use it every day and now my oily skin looks better than it ever has before.

I love this stuff! I have quite oily yet sensitive skin so i was a little wary of trying this but it didnt make my skin angry at all. I had been using AOBS but this is better in that the exfoliating bits are smaller so your skin gets a great scrub. I think i'll still use AOBS as an everyday cleanser though/ I have been using it twice a week for two weeks, and my skin is looking alot less oily and alot brighter. Don't discontinue this one Lush!! Amazing stuff. I was never a huge fan of AOBS so I was a little skeptical when I tried this. I continue to be amazed how well it exfoliates/deep cleans without drying out my skin. I use this ~3 times a week in the shower (easier to rinse off) and my skin is happier for it! Quickly becoming one of my favorite cleansers *ever*.

I began getting cystic acne on my cheeks in my early 20s. The cysts lasted FOREVER and nothing helped. Some of the cysts were so large it was like having horns growing off my face. Some cleansers only made the acne worse. I gave up hope. I resigned myself to being embarrassed by my complexion. Then I tried Dark Angels. This is the BEST PRODUCT EVER. My face is smooth, my cysts are gone! Thank god for Dark Angels. Please don't ever discontinue this one, Lush!

I really love this cleanser! It was weird the first time I used it as my face was black, but it washed off easily and left no residue:) It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and gorgeous!

Great product! I am neither young nor dark-skinned but use this 2-3 times a week as a scrub & mask without the drying-effect most products cause (I'm 48! and love it!!).

This is the product I've been waiting for! I'd been using Ocean Salt for ages (and still do), but the big chunks in it can scratch my face a bit sometimes, and don't always get into the little nooks and crannies where I need them to, mainly around the nose. This stuff is amazing! Really nice small grains and plenty of them to give a good rough scrub, and because of the Rhassoul mud, I usually leave it on a few minutes to dry as a mask. It does make a hell of a mess, but it's completely worth it!

i love this product, i use it every other day and it has cleared my skin up no end. the smell and texture is great too and i love the tiny granuals in it. will def b buying again!!!!!

Just got a sample of this with my most recent order and LOVE it! I was looking at it because, though I love ocean salt, I find it quite hard on my skin and a bit stingy and some of the salt lumps are a bit big. Thought this might be a good alternative and I was more than right. I thought it might be a bit hard on my slightly sensitive skin but it just gives a nice refreshing scrub and clean without drying to much.

I love this product! I like coal face a lot but you do not always get scrubby bits. With this cleanser you do! My skin felt great once I had used it and the next day. I was given a sample and shall definitely make this a regular part of my skin care.

I was recommended this for my combination skin. The texture is very strange, quite powdery but a solid until you mix it into a paste with water. As i applied it to my skin I immediately noticed how scrubby it is! Instantly I knew that this is what I've been looking for for a long time. (Ocean salt is good but sometimes the salt chunks are too big). Left my skin glowing! I agree, a little messy to use but well worth it!

I am so eager to try this product out, i'm going to get a sample first, to see how it reacts on my skin as it's normal I rarely get spots but I notice that I have little spots around the top of my forehead and in the summer my skin tends to get greasy and sometimes dry but rarely. So i'm hoping that this product goes well,

Never been totally satisfied with AOBS, so thought I'd give this a try. Scraped my face off. In a good way. Loved it.

Dark Angels is the most fantastic cleanser i've ever used! I have quite oily skin usually and hate the embarrasing shiny forehead look. But with this my face stays shine free ALL DAY! I even stayed over at a friends house the other night and woke up the next day with a grease free face. Doesn't dry my skin at all, my boyfriend says my skin is the softest he's ever felt which has got to be a good thing! Favorite product keep it FOREVER please!! ;0)

Seriously great stuff. Nice liqoricey-aniseedy pungent whiff about it. Pastes up a lot easier then AOBS and the very fine scrubbies do a great job. Skin feels clean and surprisingly soft. Washes off very easily. Worth the little bit of mess it makes. Just like little brothers.

Lush has changed my life. I suffered from bad acne since I was 14. I'm 19 now and about a three weeks ago I walked into Lush and basically said HELP ME! The staff took a good look at me and put together a sort of "care package". They gave me fresh farmacy for my daily cleanser, tea tree water toner, vanishing cream moisturiser and dark angels to use twice a week in the evenings. My skin's totally clear now and my confidence has soared thanks guys!

My skin felt so soft after using this, also my spots have gone down SO much after just two uses. Highly recommended!

Very messy (recommend using in the shower) but smells great, reminds me of aniseed balls and liquorice, and left me with lovely soft skin. Haven't used a lush cleanser in a while but I'll be sticking with this one now.

I've only used it once so far but I LOVE IT!!! My face feels sooo smooth and just lovely. A definate staple.

Do you think this is possible to use every day even though it says twice a week. my skin is oily and has spots. Some people say twice a week and some say possible every day. I don't mind either just as long as my skin is okay. ?? x (maybe if i rubbed it less)

Possibly the best thing i have ever washed my face with!rnMy skin is quite dry in a morning, and gets progressively more oily as the day goes on...rnI had been using Angels on bare skin, which looking at it now, didnt really do a lot, but i feel a massive difference in going from AOBS to this!rnMy face feels so clean and soft and it has improved my skin so much.rnThe scrubby gritty bits are sooooo good. rnPlease dont ever stop making this or i will cry!

this product is greaT.rnIt is recomended to be used once a week for normal skin and twice a week for oily skin. this is great. i use this every wednesday evening before bed - and alothough it feels as though im rubbing glass on my dace it does wonders. the charcoal sucks out my impurities but the avocado oil gives me a light touch of moisture.rnLush's best work yet!

I love this product which I have as a sample. I found, as I used it, that it was fabulous at dealing with dark grimey patches on my thumb and forefinger caused by too much gardening. It is soft and finely abrasive but not harsh. Good on the face and on the hands. Off to try it on some hard skin patches elsewhere. fabulous smell.

This cleanser is the BEST ever!! Very messy but the end results make it well worth it! It has definately controlled my oily outbreaks and it leaves the skin feeling sooooooo smooth and clean. Absolutely brilliant! I wouldn't want to be without it for a second!!

This is AMAZING! I have oily skin (I get all shiny by midday!) with dry cheeks...I use Angels on Bare Skin as my daily facial cleanser which works wonders and then Dark Angels in the evening. Whilst AOBS is a pretty gentle cleanser, I love how DA is a cleanser and exfoliator. I have really noticed the difference in 2 weeks of using it. Result: Smoother, softer and blemish free skin!rnrn

It's because you use it too often. You can only exfoliate your skin twice a week. Otherwise you will stimulate the sebum production and then, yes you'll get monster spots.

I want to like this I do, i've used it every day for a week and i now have some monster spots!

Like a soft, squidgy, scrubby Coalface but sweeter smelling & much less drying- use it in bath/shower cause it's messy! Leaves my skin so soft, smooth, radiant & clean- it's amazing! As long as it doesn't dry out my (very oily) skin, & lasts long enough, I think this will replace Herbalism as my daily exfoliating cleanser- it's more effective, easier to use and you need less. Even though this product is similar, I'll keep using Coalface in the morning (nice & foamy & great to tighten pores).

This is fantastic stuff! Was recommended after I said I had oily skin. It scrubs SO well; yet doesn't feel scratchy and really leaves my face feeling soft yet thoroughly cleansed. I have definitely noticed a reduction of new spots/blackheads since using.

Love it! The absolute, bestest ever, amazingest exfoliator that i have ever tried and i've tried them all. Smells like licorice and really gives your skin a good scrub without being too harsh. Makes my incredibly dry skin lovely and soft and with a fab glow. Use it twice a week for happy skin! Thanks Lush x x

my skin can get oily especially at time of month so then i get spots i purchased this from lush about a week ago and is the best thing i have ever done it smells beautiful leave your skin so super soft i tried it on my friends last night and they are off to buy some as they were so impressed its the best exfoilater i have evr purchased and they think so to. just becarful when washing your face where an old top as can stain. so pleased thanks lush

I love this it feels like a great scrub and removes that greasy feeling it also looks as if you have been down in the coal mines just a lot less work and smells a lot better too.

i love this! its like angels on bare skin but a little more effective on spots. Used to use angels on bare skin and fresh farmacy but now i can just use this! If you like angels on bare skin but wish it would be a little tougher on spots, then this is perfect for you. fab fab FAB!

Have only used this product once but it is really good. I have tried AOBS but this seems to work a lot better for my oily skin. The grains are a lot smaller and it also leaves skin really soft which I am guessing is the avocado. Doesn't leave skin anywhere near as dry as coalface.

This cleanser is amazing! Coalface was too dry and Angels on Bareskin was good but didnt do enough, but Dark Angel is just a fantastic mix of both working together and my skin just feels so wonderful. It has never cleared up so quickly and just feels so soft and glows! THANK YOU!!!

I picked this up yesterday and I couldn't wait to try it out when I got home. I love it, it's like Coal Face but so much better. I like a real scrubby scrub where I feel that I have really exfoliated, and this is it. This is my new favourite product!!!!! LUSH please don't ever stop making this :-)
