Quite rich smelling and takes some working to get a lather, but that might just be the water where I live. Great if you love vanillary scents :)

Lovely soap, leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft, and doesnt dry it out too much either. I love the scent as i like both coffee and vanilla and this one doesnt smell to sickly sweet. Only complaint is that it is a very slippery soap, ive lost count the amount of times it has gone flying out my hands across the bathroom!

It's ok, but not my favourite. I can't smell the vanilla in it at all really, to me it just smells of coffee, and while I like the smell of coffee in a cup, I don't really want to smell of it myself... What I really don't like about it though is the yellow staining!

This is yummy soap. It lathers really well and is a nice, creamy soap. I think it smells quite like toffee! Gorgeous!

I've lost count of the number of pieces of this soap I have bought since it was launched. It doesn't smell of much when dry, but once in use, it scents the whole bathroom. Only "complaint" is the bubble colour - somewhat off putting as it reminds me of iodine solution, but thankfully doesn't smell like iodine!

Doesn't smell vanillarish to me, but the coconut scent is so wonderful that it makes up for it!

Along with Honey I Washed The Kids Soap this is my all-time favourite Lush soap. The smell is AMAZING!!! and it lathers up soooooo well.

I'm on my third batch of this soap and I still adore it. I think this soap has the most true-to-life vanilla smell that I've ever found outside of central and south america. I remember a family that made black-specked vanilla ice cream blocks wrapped in paper. I have never forgotten that absolutely perfect ice cream (and the smell of real vanilla pods drying in the sun on the side of their shop), and this soap captures that fragrance exquisitely. Thank you for this awesome vanilla soap!

Just used this, yes it is very yellow when youre using it but....if you use it on a sponge the lather is really thick and creamy, produces a very pale yellow lather and smells really strongly of vanilla and a hint of coffee and cocoa. i keep mine in a little soap dish!!! worth the money!!!

YUMMY! Super sweet vanilla scent; the vanilla pods on top are a nice touch, as you can squeeze the vanilla bean paste out and use it as a gentle exfoliator. Turned my skin temporarily yellow, and that was kinda fun. =)

Smells good but you have to like coffee. I wish LUSH had a vanilla scented soap that was just vanilla. I like this soap but I'm not a huge coffee person. I kinda like the yellow froth but I can see how it might dye someones towels if they don't rinse off thoroughly. Overall I wanted to give it 3 1/2 but I will give it 4 because I would probably really like the smell if I liked coffee.

Personally I'm stunned at the bad press this is getting, I adore the smell! I'm constantly washing my hands with it and smelling them afterwards. Results in some funny looks. One thing I will say is you'll need a tray for this to go on, or you'll end up with a very yellow sink, it stains like mad. Please make a shampoo equivalent!

I so so so wanted to love this product as a loyal Lushie should, and I thought I would (being addicted to the vanillary fragrance, ballistic and dusting powder) but when I smell this now it makes me feel physically sick! To my nose it's a clumsy, pungent musk-coffee scent with a sickly sweet undertone of synthetic smelling vanilla/chocolate. A very acquired smell! Turned my bath mustard yellow and left a funny slimy residue on my skin, sorry Lush, thumbs down!

Ick, I didn't like this one at all. I can smell the vanilla along with a mild scent of coffee, but overall it just smells too fake and plastic-y to me. Just not very pleasant.

one of the most delicious mouthwatering scented soaps lush has ever made. a sweet sophisticated vanilla. you can smell the coffee in it, however it's more of a mocha latte smell. sometimes custard.. sometimes white chocolate..it lathers into a creamy rich lather that leaves your skin soft with a yummy subtle scent. so what if it turns your skin yellow temporarily.. i have a white bathtub and i can assure you it doesnt stain once you've rinsed after your shower.

If you like vanilla coffee, this is the one for you. Feel very clean and soft.

Not a creamy, sweet vanilla, more like the burnt caramel smell of Vanillary- but unlike the Vanillary range, this soap smells quite strongly of coffee and (strangely) nuts. On the plus side, it's a sophisticated and quite strong fragrance (last about an hour on my hands). On the downside, however, it's one of the more expensive soaps, it stains the sink yellow and personally, I find the coffee smell overpowering! I won't be buying this, glad I got it free! Sorry Lush!

Ive just tried this and i have to say i love it, which is suprising as im not a coffee lover!! This smells lovely, creamy vanilla with a hint of coffee!! I also havent had any problems with yellow staining!

Got this as a requested sample, fragranced the room beautifully. Not the best soap though as it can stain fabrics such as towels. Lush should send customers samples as standard :)

If I'm honest, I've not used this soap yet, but I've just bought some and think it smells lovely. I love a vanilla scented room. I agree with other reviewers about the hint of coffee scent, but don't think it's too overpowering.

Didn't like this one, unfortunately. Can't smell the vanilla, or tonka for that matter. It reeks of curry, and leaves a slimy residue that takes forever to rinse off.

Finally, a soap containg my two favourite scents in the world!!! You'd think it's really weird, but it smells fabulous, creamy vanilla with subtle notes of coffee,and buried somewhere in there, I smell caramel and biscuits, and it reminds me of my Mom's baking on cold winter days!!! Love Love LOVE IT!!

i liked the smell of the soap in the shop, i liked it befor shower, i liked it after shower, i liked like it smells on my body, but... i really didnt like the smell while i was showering, i dont knw, but when soap mixed with the water, it smelled awful.

Deep down yellow, deep down to earth scent, just the one I like. rnEven though I usually don´t adore too sweet scents this mixture is just perfect: caramel, syrup, bisquit, vanilla, coffee, you name it... it is really from the home warmth, from the bakery and ideal during wintertime.

The scent of this soap is very strong, it smells like baking, very kitcheny, okay for use on the hands but too overpowering for me on the body

I agree that this did smell quite strongly of coffee but seeing as I love the stuff I really didn't mind! :P This soap has an amazing smell and lather and leaves skin soft, but it makes me itchy and blotchy :( First LUSH product I've reacted too - gutted! Lost the star because of the itchiness.

Didn't really smell the vanilla in the soap :/ It smelt more like coffee. But it lathers really well, and you get a bit of a lingering smell afterwards, which is good :).rnBut I didn't like the yellow stains as the soap washed away. Especially if you use it in the bath then your washing in yellow water.rnBut apart from that the soap is nice :).rnI give 'Vanilla in the mist' a rating of 3/5.

been wanting this for ages and chose some to put in my freshers box.it has a lovely strong smell that you can tell will last on your skin and if you like the vanillery range you should definetly try this.

This is my favourite soap. Haven't found one I've been nuts about since Lush discontinued Alkmaar. BUt this is luvly and creamy, leaves me nice and soft and smells really sweet. It's a thumbs up from me, but pleeeeease bring back Alkmaar - it's the best!

Well, as a soap it is one of the best I have ever used - works up in to a brilliant lather, and leaves me feeling so so clean ... BUT it smells (to my uneducated nose) more like espresso than vanilla. This is a pity, as I thought it would be similar to my heavenly Vanillary perfume. Also love that it makes a yellow lather - but don't worry, it washes away!

Not really sure what I think about this one; it's not that it smells particularly unpleasant, but there's certainly nicer smelling soaps available. Also, it does seem to go very quickly, but this is in a household of three who all get a bath every night. Neither the coffee scent or the vanilla scent particularly seem to stand out, instead there's an odd smell that slightly resembles play-dough. I don't think I will be purchasing this again.

Really tried to love this - love vanilla but for me, theres just not enough. The bar itself smelled lovely but on use not so much. Soap is moisturising enough but no lingering fragrance and not very pleasant yellow stains everywhere the soap has been, stick to using it as a handsoap til its done I think

Smells ok- not sure about the coffee bit, would have prefered a bit more of the vanilla scent. Leaves skin nice and soft though. Stars off for the yellow stains too. I kept it in my bathroom cabinet for a couple of weeks and the yellow leeched through the paper, onto the shelf itself and the packaging of a few other things. Wouldn't mind if it washed off. The colour is the same when you later it up and sort of reminds me of the iodine stuff they use to clean incision areas before operations!

I really wanted to enjoy this product because i love lush and they're products but this was an utter disappointment.rni love love love vanilla smells and this smelt absolutely nothing like vanilla. it reminded me of marzipan or almonds or something like that and it wasn't unpleasant but at the same time it wasn't a nice smell. as for other reviews saying it smelt like coffee well i just couldn't smell it.rni will definitely not be buying this product again!!:(

This was such a treat to use. I took it on holiday with me, and I didn't need to use a moisturiser after my shower when I'd used this. The fragrance really superb. My only "complaint" is the fact that it manage to stain the edge of the bath, but this was overcome by allowing the soap to drain properly after use.rnrnAll in all, a really good buy, and one that I will certainly repeat.

I love the smell of this soap, the coffee is subtle but amazing. The colour of this soap is so bright that it stained my white flannel and finger nails yellow.

love it. the smell is lovely, coffee and vanilary together :) not the same as the rest of the vanillary range, its less sweet, more adult. should make more of this fragrance ;) you can smell it for ages after using it and the lather is a lovely yellow (washes off, don't worry :P ) makes my skin amazing and soft. favorite soap ever. highly recomend.

The smell isn't so much vanilla, but coffee. This is going to be a really nice scent for fall/winter. I like it but I do wish there was more of a vanilla scent.

Nice smell, although I'd prefer it to smell more of vanilla and less of coffee. I really like the vanilla pod bits in it too.rnrnHowever, it leaves a horrible turmeric yellow stain once it's wet - on my skin, on the towel (even after I think I've washed it all off) and on the grouting (bleach wouldn't remove it!). Does it really need the colouring in it, or is there anyway it can be avoided? It's really put me off using what is otherwise a delicious smelling product.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and as soon as I smelt it I fell in love with it. I can deffinately smell a coffee aroma in there which I think brings it all together. I can't stop sniffing it! Bought this a few days ago and am hooked! It's definitely not a sickly-sweet vanilla; I agree with everyone so far who's mentioned coffee cake, plus it's got a lovely toasty/woodsy base. Very sexy and earthy! My husband loves it too. I was a bit alarmed by the colour of the lather - I didn't want to end up looking like a jaundiced Simpson! - but the bright yellow washes off and leaves your skin perfectly clean (and not as dry as most soaps). Thumbs up - I will be buying this again and again

I absolutely love the smell of this, it's the perfect balance between vanilla and coffee for me, which I can smell on my skin for ages after using it. But it's not very nice to look at, and the bits of coffee bean or vanilla pod or whatever they are are really scratchy on your skin.

I wanted to like it... I love vanilla, but this soap misses the boat. It's like washing with a slimy piece of plastic, no lather. I don't really get much of a vanilla scent, and there's an odd undertone to it, almost like curry. I've tried it a few times, but sorry, it's not happening for me.

I was given Vanilla in the Mist as a free sample in store. The smell is quite nice and it doesn't look particularly good (my Mum described it as hard cheese...) but the worst thing is that I used it for about a week to wash my hands at the sink and my hands started peeling because they were too dry, which doesn't normally happen to me. So, not a favourite :(

This soap makes me so happy in the shower! It has an amazing colour and smells kind of like coffee cake and kind of like toast. It leaves my skin lovely and soft and the scent liners really well.rnMy new favourite soap =)

I picked up this soap while in Scotland and absolutely love it. The smell is intoxicating, not overly sweet. The coffee scent comes through along with the vanilla and a slight floral smell. It is moisturizing and my skin looks and feels great. Cant wait for it to come to the States.

I'm not usually one for bath products claiming to be vanilla scented, as they are generally yukky sweet and not enough like the real thing... But this soap is amazing; absolutely yummy smelling, with a convincing whiff of vanilla pod and a gorgeous coffee smell thrown in for good measure. Lovely, lovely stuff. Also more moisturising than most (more like the older soaps, eg my beloved Alkmaar), and nice and soft on the skin. Mmmm.

I'm a big fan of vanilla so I was really excited when Lush brought out their vanilla range. Unfortunately, the products I've tried so far have been disappointing so I was really glad when I had a whiff of this soap in my local Lush shop and found that alright, it doesn't really smell of vanilla (none of the 'vanilla' range do), but it smells like an expensive coffee cake! If only the whole range smelled like this soap, I would be a very happy woman.

I like this soap but I was hoping it would wake me up in the morning (because of the coffee) instead it just turned me a bit yellow (its ok it washes straight off!) I got this free when i spent over £20 in store but I dont usually like Vanilla, I only chose this cos I couldn't smell Vanilla at all, only coffee!

My fave soap so far but I think you either love it or you hate it though. It's has a very strong smell and dosen't smell of vinilla when you first open it but get it wet and by god the nice smell kicks in. It has a funny texture when wet cause of the coffee but it amazing the smell stays on after use. It desurves it's rating NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!!

Amazing smell, I used it at night and the smell stayed on all through the next morning. It doesn't dry out skin and put me on a cloud all morning at work. Nice one Lush!

definatly more coffee than vanilla..take away the vanilla pods and no vanilla which i found a pain having then drop off - i do like it though even though i cant stand the smell of coffee..its softer than some soaps and plenty of very yellow foam.as for a vanilla soap lush im still waiting!

It smells good enuf to eat, not too strong though, just right. It did not dry my hands out, even with my dermititus it kept them soft and smelling good. My minded kids loved it and were happy to wash their hands all day.

lovley soap smells like vanilla but in different way to all the other vanilla range but still a good smell. its very yellow when you rub it on your skik and it makes yellow bubbles/lather makes the bath yellow 2.

I was expecting to hate this soap, but I love it! Its a gorgeous creamy amber chunk shot through with whole vanilla pods and smells just like coffee ice cream! yum! The lather is so soft and comforting, I keep washing my hands just so I can sniff them! Only Lush can make a coffee and vanilla soap and pull it off, well done guys!

Somewhat dissapointing as this is more of a coffee soap then a vanilla soap, which means it stains practically anything it touches. When this soap lathers up - which i might add, does really well, it is a bit strange having to wash in a custard coloured foam. Not bad, but i was expecting much better.

Just arrived today in the post and OH MY GOD! This smells LOVELY! I think it may be my NEW fave soap. I've tried it out already, it's wounderful! Deffinatley going to be buying again and again.

I read the description of this soap on facebook when invited to the 20/20 event. & I was so, so excited. Vanilla & Coffee are two of my favourite scents. I wasn't disappointed. It smells more of coffee than I thought it would. But mainly vanilla. I love it. What more can I say?

Coffee is the only thing that wakes me up in the morning so washing with this is aboslutely perfect for me!rnThis blend of coffee and vanilla smells good enough to eat and leaves my skin soo soft, I would recommend it to vanilla and coffee lovers the world over! :)

This should be re-named coffee in a cup. Could not smell vanilla at all, only coffee and as the smell of coffee makes me feel sick there's no way I could buy this. Very disappointed in your new "vanilla" soap.

Like the vanilla pods (a la Vanilla Fountain) and love the smell. Five stars on this one.

You can really smell the coffee in this soap, though it comes off as more of a coffee cake smell than super strong coffee. I wasn't sure I'd like this, not being a coffee fan but it's the perfect blend of coffee and vanilla and a beautiful colour and texture!

I adore this soap! At first sniff in Lush Leeds, it smelled very strongly of coffee, with a hint of vanilla. I took a piece home (well, two pieces, actually) in their special in store deal, and tried it in the bath that night. And YUM!!! Lathers a treat, feels smooth and creamy on, and the smell fades from coffee, through vanilla latte into a smoky vanilla with just the barest hint of coffee. Delicious!
