LUSH CHARITY POT FUNDING GUIDELINES

We like to look after those who look after others and are committed to supporting small, grassroots charities, non-violent direct action groups and other good causes working in the following areas:-

-  Environment / conservation

-  Animal protection

-  Human rights (including poverty alleviation)

Although these are our main areas of focus, any group, irrespective of their geographical location, field of expertise or how the organisation is registered, will be considered providing they:-

-  Are not involved in any way with animal testing or any other practices harmful to animals;

-  Are committed to non-violent action if a direct action group;

-  Are environmentally responsible;

-  Are respectful of human rights.

Please note…

The majority of our funding is allocated to small, grassroots groups as they are often best placed to make a real  difference with limited resources and often struggle to find funding.  Please note that almost all the groups we fund have annual incomes of less than £250,000 and most are substantially smaller than this than this.

We give priority to causes which are difficult to raise funds for.

Our support ranges from a few hundred pounds to a maximum of £10,000 per project, although we reserve the right to adjust these amounts depending on the project.

We support non-violent direct action because we feel it plays an important part in bringing about positive social change. Non-violent direct action includes protests and demonstrations, non-cooperation and non-violent intervention. We will only consider supporting non-violent direct actions, i.e. those which have no intention of physically harming others or threatening to do so and do not involve any permanent structural damage to buildings or other property.

We look for projects that create change and aim to get to the route of the problem.

We prefer to fund projects rather than core funding.

We do not usually fund student expeditions, sponsor fundraising activities, such as balls, dinners and sponsored runs since we prefer to give funds to organisations directly for a specific project.

Sugar Scrub gets my circulation going in overdrive. I think it's the stimulating ginger and fennel that's making me less orange peely.
